The academy encourage students to develop and explore their own ideas, while it values traditional techniques unique to Italian Jewelry. Students master from the most traditional to the latest techniques of cutting, forming, joining, casting and finishing. One of the unique techniques studied at the Academy include a Florentine etching method called “INCISIONE.”

Projects may fall into conventional formats such as brooches and earrings, as well as experimental forms, addressing issues of function, design and concept. Materials range from traditional metallic resources to an incorporation of a wide variety of materials such as antique and modern beads, plastic, feathers, shells, glass and found objects.

While exploring self-directed projects aimed at discovering your personal content, students are challenged to acquire further advanced techniques.
