(1.) Candidates for the M.Sc. degree must hold a B.Sc. degree or its equivalent in Biochemistry or in related disciplines (e.g., biology, chemistry, physiology, microbiology) – you need to provide transcripts and copies of your diploma (s). (2.) Letters of recommendation. (3.) Curriculum Vitae. (4.) Personal statement. A minimum grade point average of 3.2/4.0 (B+) is required. (5.) Applicants must also be accepted by a research supervisor who is a faculty member or associate member of the Department of Biochemistry. Recommendation for admission will be made once the applicant has secured a supervisor and adequate financial support. Financial support should be in the form of a stipend from the supervisor’s research grant or a fellowship held by the student. (6.) Proof of English language proficiency.

TOEFL: Minimum score of 600, or 86 on an Internet-based test with each component score of not less than 20.
IELTS: Minimum overall band score of 6.5.
At least 2 reference(s) must be provided.
A total of two (2) confidential letters of reference are required for your application: two (2) from academics or one (1) from an academic and one (1) from a recent employer. Once you have identified your referees (you must provide a valid institutional e-mail address for each referee), McGill will send them an e-mail asking for a reference in support of your application (Gmail or Yahoo domains cannot be accepted). Additionally, uploaded letters must be on university or company/business stationery and the referee must indicate his/her position and full contact information at the institution.
